Habibollah Shirazi (Ghaani) :

Ghaani was born in 1223 hegira in Shiraz. His father was mirza M.A. Golshan , a famous poet who was well-known for rhyming. Ghaani went to Maktab at the age of 7 and in 11, he lost his father and consequently entered day and night school Bableh in Shiraz and began studying. Then he went to Esfahan and studied math and Islamic sciences several years and then returned to Shiraz. He began teaching prosody and Khaghani, Anvari poems when he was only 15. He said fluent poems and was too busy. In 1239, prince Hasanali Mirza(shojaolsaltaneh), son of Fathali shah Ghajar came to Shiraz and took Ghaani (known as Habib) under his protection and at his request, he changed his sobriquet to Ghaani. From that time on, he was together with Hasanali Mirza who became governor of Khorasan and three years later governor of Kerman and Yazd and Ghaani went to Khorassan, Kerman and Yazd with him until in 1251 hegira, Mohammad shah acceded to the throne and joined the court poets and received the title of Hesamolajam from the king. Ghaani had an exemplary quickness of mind and improvised poems. His divan has between 21 to 22000 poems. He died at the age of 47 in 1262.
